The service area museum, in Tessin Valley

This is a Highway design for mobile vehicles and tourists, located at the border between Italy and Switzerland, near Mendrisio in the canton of Ticino. The aim is to show the character of the canton of Ticino and to attract people to the area. Ticino has many famous architects such as Mario Botta, Livio Vacchini, Aurelio Galfetti and Luigi Snozzi,whose architectural style is called "Ticino School" and is a distinctive feature of Ticino, so we designed a museum within the site, the building is an exhibit in itself, presenting the architectural style of the Ticino School in the façade design, like an architectural monument, letting people know that they have stepped into this fascinating country. The variable and spacious spatial experience created by the design of the site with different horizontal heights of traffic and pedestrian flow. People can suddenly notice the presence of this museum from both sides of the highway, and they will realize that this is the beginning or end of their Ticino journey and entice them to explore inside as they pass on both sides.

Si tratta di un progetto di autostrada per veicoli mobili e turisti, situata al confine tra Italia e Svizzera, vicino a Mendrisio, nel Canton Ticino. L'obiettivo è quello di mostrare il carattere del Canton Ticino e di attirare persone nella zona. Il Ticino ha molti architetti famosi come Mario Botta, Livio Vacchini, Aurelio Galfetti e Luigi Snozzi, il cui stile architettonico è chiamato "Scuola ticinese" ed è una caratteristica distintiva del Ticino. Per questo motivo abbiamo progettato un museo all'interno del sito; l'edificio è una mostra in sé, che presenta lo stile architettonico della Scuola ticinese nel design della facciata, come un monumento architettonico, facendo capire alle persone che hanno fatto un passo in questo paese affascinante. L'esperienza spaziale variabile e spaziosa creata dalla progettazione del sito con diverse altezze orizzontali del traffico e del flusso pedonale. Le persone possono notare improvvisamente la presenza di questo museo da entrambi i lati dell'autostrada, rendendosi conto che questo è l'inizio o la fine del loro viaggio in Ticino e invogliandole a esplorare l'interno mentre passano su entrambi i lati.
