The aim of this thesis is to analyse the key variables, proper of the Industry 4.0, the Lean Manufacturing and the Green paradigm, to study their relations and to define how the digital and lean ones can impact and support the green variables. The result obtained equals to a quantitative model that provides a priority order regarding the implementation and/or improvement of practices, technologies and strategies of an organization’s processes with the ultimate goal of developing them in a sustainable environment. The starting point of the work was the study of the literature that allowed the identification of twenty-seven variables, distributed among the three study contexts, and their relations. These were subsequently applied to an ISM-MICMAC analysis. The variables have been divided into six levels, generating a hierarchy according to the importance and influence of each and in addition, they have been clustered into four groups by highlighting their level of criticality. The theoretical results obtained were finally validated in order to support them in a real context, by interviewing a sample company, advanced in the three paradigms of reference. This way, the quantitative model turned out to be a roadmap for each organization who decides to apply it, by customizing the model on its level of maturity, on the level of digital technologies, lean practices implementation, and on the level of sustainability (environmental, economic and social) achieved till date. One limitation relates to the lack of literature that highlights the real combination and application of variables, typical of Industry 4.0, Lean and Green paradigms, caused mainly by the novelty that the paradigms themselves report. As a result, further research might explore the implementation of the model developed and its validation in the field with quantitative data.

Abstract
As a result, further research might explore the implementation of the model developed and its validation in the field with quantitative data.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
