How many sites in the world can be said to be a symbol of a sincere and crucial dichotomy? Since its foundation, the Stabilimento Italiano Prodotti Esplodenti has been a place where death was packaged. The famous black powder of Spilamberto accompanied the Italian army in the two world wars, as well as being for decades the most famous hunting powder in Europe. The project involves the redevelopment of the area, abandoned for more than twenty-five years, considering its testimonial value and its complex and structured palimpsest, through interventions on the buildings and general improvements on the area, with the aim of bringing back to life not only the walls and spaces, but also the very essence of the architecture. The objective of the intervention is in fact to conserve and enhance the existing heritage, wedging itself into its shadows and its facets with a productive action complementary to that up to now housed within its walls: there where for more than two centuries death, the project wants to bring the S.I.P.E. to pack life. The contrast between the black of gunpowder and the white of another raw material, flour, intertwines in an infinite dialogue, crossing historical themes, geographical suggestions, gloomy and happy events, interweaving of people and characters. The main theme around which the entire project revolves is therefore precisely that of continuous contrast, the continuous succession of war and peace, black and white, suffering and pleasure, pain, and well-being. The S.I.P.E. it is therefore returned to its territory not as a monad in the industrial periphery, transforming itself into a small autonomous citadel that houses a real world of taste: from the production and grinding of wheat to the finished product in its many forms, tastes, and perfumes. Not only and therefore no longer an industrial place, but a space for contact and sharing, in which training and information moments are linked to authentic tasting and well-being experiences, in a unique design capable of echoing the dual taste of history.

Abstract
Not only and therefore no longer an industrial place, but a space for contact and sharing, in which training and information moments are linked to authentic tasting and well-being experiences, in a unique design capable of echoing the dual taste of history.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
