The thesis investigates the recurring issue of homelessness in many industrialized and emerging nations. Homelessness dynamics have altered dramatically over the last few decades as a result of numerous causes rooted in economical, social, and political areas. The lack of a home poses a question of what constitutes a Home and its meaning. The thesis also emphasizes the value of connections in generating a sense of home for homeless people, as well as their potential fragility. Although the ageing-in-place agenda promotes seniors’ right to reside in their preferred surroundings, vulnerable elders are in danger of becoming homeless. The urban environment is critical to the survival of the homeless in their daily lives, and aid providers must create culturally relevant ways of engagement and dialogue. The research suggests that aid for homeless people should focus on social inclusion and securing a permanent place to live. The thesis and the design advise that various types of service assistance should be investigated, and that services should be provided in non-threatening physical and social environments. The implementation of the notion is based on a collaborative environment. The design approach aims to help build an investment for homeless individuals, with the main notion of providing a toolkit, adaptable to various growing European cities facing the issue of rising homelessness. The work tries to develop a bridge between homelessness and permanent housing while providing a safe and collaborative environment through reintegration into society. Ultimately, the design focuses on temporary structures within deserted industrial buildings integrated into the urban fabric, which can be found in the majority of cities around Europe. It also emphasizes the significance of sustainable urban development and investigates the possibilities of adaptive reuse of abandoned industrial structures in urban transformation.

Abstract
It also emphasizes the significance of sustainable urban development and investigates the possibilities of adaptive reuse of abandoned industrial structures in urban transformation.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
