The idea of the research grew out of interest to understand if architecture can be recognized as a physical manifest of memory. This was a key theme for many leading architects, writers and social thinkers. Based on theoretical and empirical studies first part of this work is an attempt to demonstrate how remembering and forgetting are experienced through architectural forms, and also to question the potential of architecture as one that supports the act of recalling memories. Literature, psychological and architectural theories helped to develop a relevant matrix that provided a necessary guidance to understand where the connections between the theory and empirical studies of memory lie. All this investigations were preparing a ground for new question, that was to be answered with a project. Can memories be the matters of architecture? Undoubtedly memories are matters of art. After long theoretical studies time came not just to observe the changes happening in space, but to start experimenting with memories on the grounds of architecture. Perhaps there is no better place for this to happen then in Venice. In final part of the thesis are presented two architectural projects in the myth of Venice with all collected personal and professional memories.

Abstract
In final part of the thesis are presented two architectural projects in the myth of Venice with all collected personal and professional memories.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
