In this paper, the main environmental impact concerns of nuclear energy are discussed followed by a comparison of nuclear plants licensing procedures in US and European countries. Siting criteria and EIA process is also investigated. The UAE site selected for NPP is discussed with regards to key aspects for the EIA. The research handles civil nuclear plant licensing procedure only and will not cover defensive nuclear plants or instruments. Moreover, radiation dispersion modeling is applied and simulation with GENII model is implemented concerning UAE NPP case. Five different scenarios are implemented using GENII code and results of simulations are further discussed.
