A new analytical model for the hybrid rocket diffusive flame is presented. The corresponding numerical simulation follows. Thus the need to create a model that could account for these coupling effects. The discussion is primarily placed in a theoretical framework, nevertheless the experimental context has a key role in understanding the found trends. The model investigates how pressure (mainly through the presence of oxygen below the flame zone) may affect the rate of regression of the solid fuel, and proposes an analysis at the basis of a new combustion model for the hybrid rocket.

Abstract
A new analytical model for the hybrid rocket diffusive flame is presented. The corresponding numerical simulation follows. The research starts from the experimental evidence of a dependence of the solid fuel regression rate on the chamber total pressure. Thus the need to create a model that could account for these coupling effects. The discussion is primarily placed in a theoretical framework, nevertheless the experimental context has a key role in understanding the found trends. The model investigates how pressure (mainly through the presence of oxygen below the flame zone) may affect the rate of regression of the solid fuel, and proposes an analysis at the basis of a new combustion model for the hybrid rocket.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
