The contemporary work environment is increasingly characterized by its dynamic nature, constant changes, and the need for continuous adaptation to remain competitive in the marketplace. This VUCA (volatile, uncertain, complex, and ambiguous) context has led to an increasing demand for flexibility to market changes and adaptability to potential shocks or changes in consumer preferences. As a result, the concept of organizational change is essential for companies to survive in a highly competitive market. However, only a fraction of change initiatives is successful, which is why recent years have seen a surge in consulting services to support companies in these transformations. In this context, Agile methodology, intended as Management innovation, has gained increasingly relevance in making companies more effective and adaptable to ever-changing and dynamic enviroments. As such, many software and non-software companies have opted to switch to an Agile way of working. The thesis presents an empirically grounded model of consultant-led Agile transformations in firms, based on in-depth interviews conducted with both consultancies and companies. The model offers insights on the complex relationship between internal and external change agents, contributing to a more refined understanding of the actors involved thereby adding to research dealing with change actors and their relationship. Considering Agile as the specific management innovation, the thesis also contributes to management innovation research. The model further offers practical guidelines for the entrenchment of new practices and processes, managing change, and engaging stakeholders. The thesis provides important practical insights for companies and consultants seeking to navigate the complex process of organizational change.

Abstract
The thesis provides important practical insights for companies and consultants seeking to navigate the complex process of organizational change.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
