Vacíos: interventi urbani a Buenos Aires

The contemporary city with its transformations presents a porous structure, dictated by a balanced ratio of solids and voids, swinging like a pendulum dictated by the mechanism of demolition and construction of new buildings. The fruit of this are Interstitial, resulting places, suspended in their functions as non-places that adorn the city with the possibility of an uncertain future. This thesis studies, starting with the theme of emptiness from its definition and an analysis in the fields of art and architecture, a model that can go to constitute a solution to these spaces. The objective is not to lose the identity of the place and to let its essence shine through. The research stems from an observation made along the streets of Buenos Aires, a city that through its architecture conveys to the observer its cultural identity and history, which is, however, endangered by a process of modernization of its structure.

La città contemporanea con le sue trasformazioni presenta una struttura porosa, dettata da un equilibrato rapporto di pieni e vuoti, che oscilla come un pendolo dettato dal meccanismo di demolizione e costruzione di nuovi edifici. Il frutto di questo sono Luoghi interstiziali, di risulta, sospesi nelle loro funzioni di non-luoghi che ornano la città con l’eventualità di un futuro incerto. Questa tesi studia, partendo dal tema del vuoto dalla sua definizione ed un’analisi nei campi dell’arte e dell’architettura, un modello che possa andare a costituire una soluzione a questi spazi. Obiettivo è non perdere l’identtà del luogo e lasciarne trasparire l’essenza, La ricerca nasce da un’osservazione compiuta lungo le strade di Buenos Aires, città che attraverso le sue architetture trasmette all’osservatore la sua identità culturale e la sua storia, il quale viene messo però in pericolo da un processo di modernizzazione della sua struttura.
