Fashion villae: the look of Dolce and Gabbana on Hadrian's Villa

The project is the synthesis of the encounter between the marvelous historical context of Villa Adriana and the modernity of the maison Dolce&Gabbana. The design idea was born with the intention of creating an exhibition itinerary that accompanies the visitor to the Villa and the spectator of the fashion show to discover the great beauty of the historical and cultural heritage that hosts the event and the amazing story of the two designers, Stefano Gabbana and Domenico Dolce. The layout project is the result of a careful analysis of the UNESCO site, starting from its history and passing through the study of the architectural composition of the Villa. The guiding concept throughout the design phase is respect for the historical heritage and the desire to enhance its beauty. The exhibition itinerary, alternating with the two fashion shows, intertwines with the places in the villa that are most representative of the theme of water and centricity, chosen by us as the themes of the project. The aim of the project is to conceive new and modern temporary structures, which at the same time are representative of the Maison Dolce&Gabbana but do not appear out of tune in the historical context that frames them.

Il progetto è la sintesi dell’incontro tra il meraviglioso contesto storico di Villa Adriana e la modernità della maison di moda Dolce&Gabbana. L’idea progettuale nasce con l’intento di realizzare un percorso espositivo che accompagna il visitatore della Villa e lo spettatore del fashion show alla scoperta della grande bellezza del patrimonio storico culturale che ospita l’evento e della strepitosa storia dei due designers, Stefano Gabbana e Domenico Dolce. Il progetto di allestimento è il risultato di una attenta analisi del sito UNESCO, partendo dalla sua storia e passando attraverso lo studio dell’assetto architettonico compositivo della Villa. Il concetto guida durante tutta la fase progettuale è il rispetto per il patrimonio storico e la volontà di volerne esaltare la bellezza. Il percorso espositivo alternato ai due fashion shows, si intreccia ai luoghi della villa più rappresentativi del tema dell’acqua e della centricità, scelti da noi come temi del progetto. L’obiettivo del progetto è quello di concepire delle strutture temporanee nuove e moderne, che allo stesso siano rappresentative della Maison Dolce&Gabbana ma non figurino stonate nel contesto storico che li incornicia.
