Origin[al]Corenno Opere di valorizzazione e conservazione del borgo medievale di Corenno Plinio per la promozione della conoscenza del patrimonio esistente

The thesis was part of the debate on the issues of recovery and reutilization of small ancient villages perched along the shores of the Lario lake which, for various reasons, have lost importance over time in parallel undergoing a demo¬graphic decline and, in many cases, abandonment.. The subject of the thesis is the village of Corenno Plinio, a small hamlet located on the slopes of the upper Lario, between Dervio. The study began from a total survey of the whole lake area to move then to analyze all villages and finally to focus on Corenno Plinio town and its single houses. The foundations of the project were then realized through a thorough study of the state of the art, through the know¬ledge of building techniques consolidated in these areas, the selective use of materials and the state of conservation of buildings. Now, at our days the village looks downsize and crumbling compared to Medioevo origin. The idea to recover the village is becoming real in order not only to save the town but to enrich the habitants with their own instruments. The idea of giving new life to the village aims at a concrete result that goes beyond the mere recovery of the built and is based on the possibility of satisfying local needs taking inspiration also from history and traditions. The new offer available after the works will be composed by: a tourist office, a museum and exhibition space, a re¬staurant offering local food and, for a more complete expe¬rience, a suspended walkway that will enrich the visit of the tourist inside the streets of the village. The goal is to illustrate through the case a possible method of intervention that involves a rebirth and a reverse of trend, starting from the region's potential and the innova¬tive tools available in the building.

La tesi si inserisce nel dibattito sulle problematiche di recu¬pero e rifunzionalizzazione dei piccoli borghi antichi arroccati lungo le sponde del Lario che, per vari motivi, hanno perso nel tempo importanza subendo in parallelo un calo demogra¬fico e, in molti casi, l’abbandono. Oggetto della tesi è il borgo di Corenno Plinio, una piccola frazione situata sulle pendici dell’alto Lario, nel territorio del Comune di Dervio. Il progetto di recupero si è sviluppato a partire da una approfondita conoscenza dell’oggetto di studio e del suo contesto. L’analisi ha permesso di avere una visione com¬pleta dell’oggetto di studio, prima a larga scala in tutto il territorio della zona dell’alto lago, poi a livello comunale per arrivare infine a focalizzare l’attenzione su Corenno e sui singoli edifici. Le basi del progetto si sono realizzate quindi tramite uno studio approfondito dello stato di fatto, attraverso la co¬noscenza delle tecniche edilizie consolidate in queste aree, l’uso selettivo dei materiali e lo stato di conservazione dei fabbricati. L’idea di ridare nuova vita all’abitato mira a un risultato concreto che va oltre al mero recupero del costruito e si fonda sulla possibilità di soddisfare le esigenze locali pren¬dendo spunto anche dalla storia e dalle tradizioni. All’interno del borgo si è quindi pensato di inserire quelle funzioni primarie e necessarie per lo sviluppo turistico: un ufficio turistico, uno spazio museale ed espositivo, un punto ristoro con tavola calda e, per un’esperienza più completa, una passerella sospesa che arricchirà la visita del turista all’interno delle vie del borgo. L’obiettivo è di illustrare tramite il caso in esame un possibi¬le metodo d’intervento che comporti una rinascita e un’inver¬sione di tendenza, partendo dalle potenzialità del territorio e dagli strumenti innovativi disponibili in ambito edilizio.
