The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the primary factors that most influence the driving experience of premium/luxury electric cars, with a particular focus on the use of light and sound. The combination of literature review and benchmarking analysis started the present dissertation which allowed the analysis of both the driving experience faced by car manufacturers and the psychoacoustic magnitudes specific to sound, such as loudness, sharpness, roughness, and fluctuation strength. The theoretical conclusions obtained were fundamental to support the laboratory experiment conducted at the PHEEL laboratory of the Politecnico di Milano. The aim of the experiment was to grasp how these psychoacoustic variables influence the perceived evaluation of sound. The experimental activity involved 32 individuals, all of whom were exposed to different conceptual interior car sounds. The results showed which of the psychoacoustic variables have the greatest impact. It was thus demonstrated how changes in psychoacoustic values affect the listener's perception. Based on the results obtained, it was possible to develop a potential real-world application of the product, integrating a multi-sensory system into the interior, which could offer the company a competitive advantage in terms of brand differentiation and market impact. As a consequence, future research may focus on the effective implementation of light, voice, and sound.

Abstract
As a consequence, future research may focus on the effective implementation of light, voice, and sound.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
