Establishing an accomplished relationship with elements of the landscape, such as rivers, and especially with those that have been most neglected in recent decades, requires an action of regeneration of personal and collective memory that must begin with words. The objective of this thesis work is to re-compose a narrative of the Po River consisting of the range of specificities and peculiarities that represent the result of the difficult centuries-long relationship between man and river and the balance between natural and man-made works. Giving back to the Po River the ability to tell its story through words, which are the vehicle for knowledge and a curb to forgetfulness, means giving voice to its complexity by bringing it back to the center of the lives of those who frequent it because they live along its banks or because they decide to discover it through slow travel.

Abstract
Establishing an accomplished relationship with elements of the landscape, such as rivers, and especially with those that have been most neglected in recent decades, requires an action of regeneration of personal and collective memory that must begin with words. The objective of this thesis work is to re-compose a narrative of the Po River consisting of the range of specificities and peculiarities that represent the result of the difficult centuries-long relationship between man and river and the balance between natural and man-made works. Giving back to the Po River the ability to tell its story through words, which are the vehicle for knowledge and a curb to forgetfulness, means giving voice to its complexity by bringing it back to the center of the lives of those who frequent it because they live along its banks or because they decide to discover it through slow travel.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
