As we unfortunately know, fashion is one of the industries currently most impacting the world. Among all, the dyeing process is under particular observation due to the serious environmental pollution that its processes generate. If it is true that change must start from each of us, it is perhaps even truer that it is up to companies and designers, first and foremost, to promote a significant change of direction. Starting from this awareness, I decided to analyze one of the most promising processes in the eld of textile dyeing: the use of microorganisms. I thought at first to try to act in a direct way going to experience this particular type of coloring on fabric. However, the difficulty in finding companies willing or able to provide adequate support, mixed with the statements made in various interviews by those who are currently considered experts in the eld, then put me in front of a different reality. What I have come up against is that, although this is a subject that is gradually making its way into the industry, it is still in some ways at a stage that we could de ne as embryonic. So it became clear that there was a need for a primer, a starting point that would provide simple and clear indications for those who want to take this new path. I then carried out a first research on the state of the art of the Fashion System to identify then, thanks to the analysis of several case studies, the scenarios currently existing on bacterial dyeing. Thanks to a Design-driven approach, it has been possible to derive important insights useful to respond to the main objective of this project that is to become a guide that provides designers, companies and researchers the basis on which to build and adapt their processes. The overall output will in fact be Key Actions, which have emerged as fundamental points, also and above all to promote and guide collaboration between different disciplines, so as to approach realities that until recently were seen as totally distant (design and science) and promote, hopefully, a real change of mentality.

Abstract
The overall output will in fact be Key Actions, which have emerged as fundamental points, also and above all to promote and guide collaboration between different disciplines, so as to approach realities that until recently were seen as totally distant (design and science) and promote, hopefully, a real change of mentality.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
