Offshore wind turbines, after a great deal of development in relatively unseismic areas, are being installed in areas with higher seismicity. This means that these structures will have to be designed to withstand higher seismic loads without drastically increasing costs. In this context, an advanced numerical modeling approach and a simplified alternative model have been developed to evaluate the seismic response of the structure: the former involves an OpenSees model for the dynamic analysis of a site, while the latter involves the use of KEOPE software, developed by the Politecnico di Milano and adaptable to many practical cases with soddifsfacient results.

Abstract
Offshore wind turbines, after a great deal of development in relatively unseismic areas, are being installed in areas with higher seismicity. This means that these structures will have to be designed to withstand higher seismic loads without drastically increasing costs. In this context, an advanced numerical modeling approach and a simplified alternative model have been developed to evaluate the seismic response of the structure: the former involves an OpenSees model for the dynamic analysis of a site, while the latter involves the use of KEOPE software, developed by the Politecnico di Milano and adaptable to many practical cases with soddifsfacient results.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
