Il bosco della musica : una nuova sede per il conservatorio di Milano

The thesis has as its objective the realization of a project for the new headquarters of the Milan Conservatory of Music in the suburban neighborhood of Rogoredo. This proposal was born as a response to the “Bosco della Musica” call for proposals in which the desire is made explicit that the project fit into a context characterized by special social needs so that it becomes an active part of the urban regeneration process. To benefit from the intervention will be not only the future students but also the city’s users, first and foremost the residents of the neighborhood and young people who intend to undertake music production activities. In this way, the value of social connector that the building must assume becomes evident, having both aggregate different users and confront a variegated context, made up of parts that are morphologically very different from each other. In Rogoredo, it is possible to observe the stratifications that urban expansion has left during the course of the last century, from the blocks arranged in a courtyard at the beginning of the twentieth century to the headquarters of Sky Italia, each intervention speaks of the needs to which the neighborhood has had to respond. The project proposes a mediation between these realities, creating a public courtyard that can contain the activities of the study, production, and enjoyment of music along with a park whose purpose is to give respite from the dense pattern of the residential core and the massive interventions of the tertiary sector. In the creation of these spaces, we focused on finding a typological-distributive solution that would allow the generation of permeability of the public spaces, to expand the possibilities for social interactions between the different users; while preserving the privacy necessary for the performance of the conservatory’s activities and daily life in the students’ housing.

La tesi ha come obbiettivo la realizzazione di un progetto per la nuova sede del Conservatorio di Milano nel quartiere periferico di Rogoredo. Questa proposta nasce come risposta al bando del “Bosco della Musica” nel quale si esplicita la volontà che il progetto si inserisca in un contesto caratterizzato da particolari bisogni sociali affinché diventi parte attiva del processo di rigenerazione urbana. A trarre beneficio dall’intervento non saranno solo i futuri studenti ma anche l’utenza cittadina, primi fra tutti i residenti del quartiere e i giovani che intendano intraprendere attività di produzione musicale. In questo modo diventa evidente il valore di connettore sociale che l’edificio deve assumere dovendo sia aggregare diverse utenze sia confrontarsi con un contesto variegato, costituito da parti morfologicamente molto diverse tra loro. A Rogoredo, infatti è possibile osservare le stratificazioni che l’espansione urbana ha lasciato durante il corso dell’ultimo secolo, dagli isolati disposti a corte di inizio novecento ai quartieri generali di Sky Italia, ogni intervento parla delle necessità a cui il quartiere ha dovuto rispondere. Il progetto propone una mediazione fra queste realtà, creando una corte pubblica che possa contenere le attività dello studio, della produzione e della fruizione della musica assieme ad un parco il cui scopo è quello di dare respiro dal fitto disegno del nucleo residenziale e dai massicci interventi del settore terziario. Nella realizzazione di tali spazi ci si è concentrati sulla ricerca di una soluzione di carattere tipologico-distributivo che consenta la generazione di una permeabilità degli ambienti pubblici, per ampliare le possibilità di interazioni sociali tra le diverse utenze; preservando tuttavia la privacy necessaria allo svolgimento delle attività del conservatorio e della vita quotidiana negli alloggi degli studenti.
