The aim of this thesis is to provide guidelines and to test the degree of leanness of 21 organizations, map lean activities and/or decisions under different management so as to develop a map for lean activities and decision to achieve high degree of leanness based on a critical review of theories, empirical material, questionnaire and interview with organization employees in different management level. In this thesis, qualitative and a quantitative five-point scale questionnaire is used as the study instrument. These questionnaires were distributed to different companies from all over the world and answered by the employees working in different department varying from bottom level to top level management. Interview will be held with the organization employees to better understand the mindset of that management and of the organization about lean management in a boarder sense.
