Facing Social Housing Stock Realities: Analysis of Recent EU Funded Projects

This thesis discusses the problems and challenges facing social housing in Europe. Following the examination of European statistical data, the study analyzes 21 social housing projects financed under the European Horizon 2020 programme, through the analysis of the structure of the projects included in the various calls, the elaboration of summary sheets of the project contents, the comparative analysis of the composition of the partners, of the times, of the budgets and of the work packages considered for the articulation of the projects. The study also provides a brief overview of funded projects that have addressed the issue of energy efficiency and social aspects in construction more generally, which can give further hints of implementation for the social housing sector. The results of the analysis highlight the importance of social housing in the European context and the need to promote dedicated policies to support its redevelopment. The study can be a useful reference for configuring effective project proposals aimed at improving the sector's assets.

Questa tesi affronta i problemi e le sfide in atto nel settore dell'edilizia sociale in Europa. A valle di una disamina dei dati statistici europei, lo studio esamina 21 progetti di edilizia sociale finanziati nell’ambito del programma Europeo Horizon 2020, tramite l'analisi della struttura dei progetti inseriti nelle diverse call, l’elaborazione di schede riassuntive dei contenuti progettuali, l'analisi comparativa della composizione dei partners, dei tempi, dei budget e dei work packages considerati per l’articolazione dei progetti. Lo studio fornisce anche una breve panoramica di progetti finanziati che hanno affrontato il tema dell’efficienza energetica e gli aspetti sociali nell’edilizia più in generale e che possono dare ulteriori spunti di implementazione per il settore dell'edilizia sociale. Gli esiti delle analisi condotte evidenziano l'importanza dell'edilizia sociale nel contesto europeo e la necessità di promuovere politiche dedicate per sostenerne la riqualificazione. Lo studio può costituire un utile riferimento per configurare efficaci proposte progettuali volte a migliorare il patrimonio del settore.
