An incomplete "dialogue" about tomorrow

Utopia. Why is the word still taboo, while everything gets evolved above our imagination? It would be understandable if we lived in the past centuries with all of the hardships and unmet necessities for satisfying our basic needs. Nonetheless, right now the only thing stopping us from diminishing the line between reality and a dream is our mindset. Having all the power, all the tools, and dominance above everything else, makes us very strong, and vulnerable at the same time. History made us understand the necessity of connectedness with other living beings to co-live and prosper with our differences, not boldly calling and greedily overruling their anomalies. The current research thesis will focus on a deep examination of proposed (for their time) scenarios about tomorrow, whether they were imagined as utopian, or radically dystopian in their current settings. Analyzing their physical context, the economic and socio-political situation (of the time), their feasibility, and why they were proposed, will lead us to understand and put us into the minds of those masters that were bold enough to critically think about changing the world with their drawing pens. An open-ended dialogue of this thesis will systematically investigate and deeply understand the Par excellence ideas of the proposals to summarize, conclude and suggest a new set of mind for a change in the ongoing “business as usual” future. The possible outcome will not be finite nor concluded, nonetheless will try to save the Anthropocene and our pathetic existence. The result is to make us think and try a little bit harder for our next planet. Which Apocalypse is our future?

Utopia. Perché la parola è ancora tabù, mentre tutto si evolve al di sopra della nostra immaginazione. Sarebbe comprensibile se vivessimo nei secoli passati con tutte le difficoltà e le necessità insoddisfatte per soddisfare i nostri bisogni primari. Tuttavia, in questo momento l'unica cosa che ci impedisce di ridurre il confine tra realtà e sogno è la nostra mentalità. Avere tutto il potere, tutti gli strumenti e il dominio sopra ogni altra cosa, ci rende molto forti e vulnerabili allo stesso tempo. La storia ci ha fatto capire la necessità della connessione con gli altri esseri viventi per convivere e prosperare con le nostre differenze, non chiamando audacemente e avidamente le loro anomalie. L'attuale tesi di ricerca si concentrerà sull'esame approfondito degli scenari proposti (per il loro tempo) sul domani, se erano immaginati utopici o radicalmente distopici con le loro impostazioni attuali. Analizzare il loro contesto fisico, la situazione economica e socio-politica (dell'epoca), la loro stessa fattibilità e il motivo per cui furono proposti, ci porterà a capire e a metterci nella mente di quei maestri che ebbero il coraggio di pensare criticamente al cambiamento il mondo con il loro pennarello. Un dialogo aperto di questa tesi indagherà sistematicamente e comprenderà in profondità le idee per eccellenza delle proposte al fine di riassumere, concludere e suggerire una nuova mentalità per un cambiamento nel futuro "business as usual" in corso. Il possibile esito non sarà finito né concluso, tuttavia cercherà di salvare l'Antropocene e la nostra patetica esistenza. Il risultato è quello di farci pensare e impegnarci un po' di più per il nostro prossimo pianeta. Quale Apocalisse è il nostro futuro?
