This thesis builds on the existing literature and aims at addressing the topic of sustainable mobility. The focus is put on road transportation such as private and company cars. This work conducts a comprehensive examination of the frameworks in place regarding cars and decarbonised mobility for Europe and Belgium. Additionally, it performs an in-depth analysis of the eects behind environmental policies. Subsequently, this research endeavors to examine some guidelines to achieve decarbonised mobility, and to identify underlying opportunities. An ex-ante analysis of potential policy implementation has been conducted through the impacts on sustainability. The three scenarios tackle the need for a dierentiated value-added tax based on the car’s type. Then, the impacts on prices and further, on demand has been studied.
Questa tesi si basa sulla letteratura esistente e mira ad arontare il tema della mobilità sosteni- bile. L’attenzione è rivolta al trasporto su strada, come le auto private e aziendali. Questo lavoro conduce un esame completo dei quadri normativi esistenti in materia di automobili e mobilità decarbonizzata per l’Europa e il Belgio. Inoltre, esegue un’analisi approfondita degli eetti delle politiche ambientali. Successivamente, questa ricerca cerca di esaminare alcune linee guida per raggiungere una mobilità decarbonizzata e di identificare le opportunità sot- tostanti. È stata condotta un’analisi ex-ante della potenziale attuazione delle politiche attraverso gli impatti sulla sostenibilità. I tre scenari arontano la necessità di un’imposta sul valore ag- giunto dierenziata in base al tipo di auto. Sono stati poi studiati gli impatti sui prezzi e, successivamente, sulla domanda.
