Abstract
Although it is possible to trace a functional ancestor of MaaS in several works going back as far as 1996, it only began to gain popularity and recognition in 2014 and is currently considered to be one of the main drivers capable of refertilising public transport demand. Mobility as a Service consists of a digital mobility solution in which several forms of user utility are brought together in a single application and interface. Various levels of implementation are possible and the literature deals with all aspects in which MaaS is realised: the objectives, methods, consequences, business models and its possible structuring are analysed. Despite this and several pilot projects including cases in Europe, Australia and Asia, it does not, in its more refined forms, stand up financially. In what follows an analysis of its main functionalities and characteristics will therefore be proposed. In addition to this, once the approach and dynamics of MaaS have been described, a pilot survey aimed at understanding possible MaaS’ adoption in Politecnico di Milano has been conducted, and the main findings reported. The object of the proposed analysis is thus divided into: • Definition of the functional objectives of MaaS • Identification of the ways in which MaaS can express itself • proposition of a taxonomy able to describe the differences between various experiences • proposition of a review of the MaaS apps present • review of the literature regarding MaaS surveys and Willingness To Pay • design of a survey about MaaS in Politecnico di Milano with consequent subministration • Analysis of the results and estimation of the Willingness To PayFile | Dimensione | Formato | |
