The thesis investigates the role of LGBTQ+ people in entrepreneurship. The work aims to uncover the obstacles that queer entrepreneurs have to face and the recurring features of the firms run by LGBTQ+ owners. I also present some real-based evidence on this topic. At first, a literature review was carried out, in order to have a clear understanding of the current state of the research. This review followed a rigorous methodology based on the research questions, which unearthed a multi-faceted range of findings, although the literature available is still in its infancy. The fledgling literature review was, thus, corroborated with the addition of five semi- structured interviews with as many queer entrepreneurs, who could explain their entrepreneurial experience. In line with the literature review, a considerable effort has been devoted to distinguishing the pros and cons of entrepreneurship between those based on queer discrimination and those common to the entire world of entrepreneurship. The five narratives found a consistent match with the findings generated by the literature review, although some aspects should be furtherly studied and debated. In the concluding section, I summarize the main findings of the thesis, its limitation, and its implications for the relevant stakeholders that could benefit from a closer view of the topic. These include policymakers, financers, and the LGBTQ+ community itself.

Abstract
These include policymakers, financers, and the LGBTQ+ community itself.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
