Sinapsi Rurale : nuove connessioni e percezioni per Sondrio e il suo territorio : il borgo della Betulla

Sinapsi Rurale was born out as a desire to reconnect and revitalize areas that over time have been left by the evolution or involution of the process of social progress that often neglects the memory of the past and the pleasures of a different life; areas born from a strong link between the nature of the territory and the needs of a mountain population, evolved structures improved and expanded over time, above all using local materials, spontaneous techniques and architectures which in their simplicity make the rural village extremely characteristic and full of identity. Specifically, it is a question of restoring villages, located around the province of Sondrio (along the slope of Mount Foppa) which, abandoned by contemporary society unaware of their natural beauty, would be lost or already are, since in all the villages visited, apart from visitors temporary there is only one stationary inhabitant. Like most of the abandoned rural nucleuses, even the one we examined at first glance is in a precarious state of conservation, with largely unsafe buildings and already in a state of natural semi-absorption of the surrounding vegetation, but only after a careful general vision, observing not only with the gaze, but also with feeling of what these villages could be, one realizes their historical value. They are the physical proof of a way of living and relating to nature, with respect and community civic sense, and collect what the surrounding context offers, values and lifestyle that in “modern” society is increasingly difficult to find. The objective of Sinapsi Rurale starts right here: from the importance of recovering these nuclei not only to give an architectural value, but to give them a historical-community value, with the thought that an evolving recovery of the existing buildings, integrating them with new functions, restoring old social and community values, connecting them with new needs can revive a new life with different values of the rural village. Consequently, the study carried out and the recovery will therefore not be aimed only at the restoration of the architectures, but has the further objective of reactivating, revitalizing and re-establishing an entire network of villages; restoring it to the strong and cooperative community it originally was. But how can we revitalize areas now abandoned because they are unsuitable for socio-cultural progress? Indeed, Sinapsi Rurale develops on a general methodology of approach (based on an in-depth analysis of the context in all its aspects to arrive at a more appropriate conclusion) to recover the rural villages, not only for the cases examined, but for a better future in which to revitalize these forgotten realities.

Sinapsi Rurale nasce come una volontà di riconnettere e rivitalizzare aree che col tempo sono state lasciate dall’evoluzione o involuzione del processo di progresso sociale che tante volte trascura la memoria del passato e i piaceri di una vita differente; aree nate da un forte legame tra la natura del territorio e le esigenze di una popolazione montana, strutture evolute migliorate e ampliate nel tempo , soprattutto utilizzando materiali della zona, tecniche e architetture spontanee che nella loro semplicità rendono il borgo rurale estremamente caratteristico e ricco di identità. Nello specifico trattasi di ripristinare borghi, localizzati intorno alla provincia di Sondrio (lungo il versante del monte Foppa) che, abbandonati dalla società contemporanea ignara della loro naturale bellezza, andrebbero persi o lo sono già, siccome in tutti i borghi visitati, a parte visitatori temporanei ci risulta un solo abitante stazionario. Come gran parte dei nuclei rurali abbandonati, anche quello da noi preso in esame a primo impatto si presenta in uno stato di conservazione precario, con edifici in gran parte pericolanti e già in uno stato di semi assorbimento naturale della vegetazione circostante, ma solo dopo una attenta visione generale, osservando non solo con lo sguardo, ma anche con sentimento di cosa potessero essere questi borghi, ci si rende conto del loro valore storico. Essi sono la prova fisica di un modo di vivere e rapportarsi con la natura, con rispetto e senso civico comunitario, e raccoglie quello che il contesto circostante offre, valori e stile di vita che nella società “moderna” è sempre più difficile trovare. L’obbiettivo di Sinapsi Rurale parte proprio da qui: dall’importanza del recupero di questi nuclei non per regalare solamente un valore architettonico, ma per donargli un valore storico-comunitario, con il pensiero che un recupero in evoluzione degli edifici presenti, integrandoli con nuove funzioni, ripristinando vecchi valori sociali e comunitari, connettendoli con nuove esigenze possano far rinascere una vita nuova con valori differenti del borgo rurale. Di conseguenza, lo studio eseguito e il recupero non saranno finalizzati solo al ripristino delle architetture, ma si pone come ulteriore obbiettivo quello di riattivare, rivitalizzare e ristabilire un’intera rete di borghi; riportandola ad avere una comunità forte e cooperativa come era in origine. Ma come fare a rivitalizzare aree ormai abbandonare perché inadatte al progresso socioculturale? Sinapsi Rurale si sviluppa infatti su una metodologia generale di approccio (basata su un’approfondita analisi del contesto in tutti i suoi aspetti per arrivare ad una conclusione più opportuna) per recuperare i borghi rurali, non solo per i casi presi in esame, ma per un futuro migliore in cui poter rivitalizzare queste realtà dimenticate.
