Box with box - Student Activity Center Architectural Design

The “Student Activity Center” project is based on the Città Studi 2.0 program in the Città Studi district, Milano, Italy. The aim and vision of this renovation program is a campus where the university, innovative teaching, and research can spring up, meeting the requirements and expectations of the 21st-century university. In this vision, the 2.0 Campus is fully equipped and welcoming, with modern and professional research and teaching spaces, libraries and research centers, business incubators and research centers, and thematic exhibition spaces, to meet the new requirements of higher education. Under the background of this hopeful and vibrant campus vision, we hope to design an open building that acts as a filter between the teaching/research function and the function of being open to the public, keeping the campus alive throughout the day. At the same time, it can serve as a great joint of the community and the campus with convenient public traffic access. So, we would like to make a student activity center here, allowing diverse public activities to take place.

Il progetto “Student Activity Center” si basa sul programma Città Studi 2.0 nel quartiere Città Studi, Milano, Italia. Lo scopo e la visione di questo programma di rinnovamento è un campus in cui l’università, l’insegnamento innovativo e la ricerca possano nascere, soddisfacendo i requisiti e le aspettative dell’università del 21° secolo. In questa visione, il Campus 2.0 è completamente attrezzato e accogliente, con spazi di ricerca e didattica moderni e professionali, biblioteche e centri di ricerca, incubatori di imprese e centri di ricerca, e spazi espositivi tematici, per soddisfare le nuove esigenze della formazione superiore. Sullo sfondo di questa visione piena di speranza e vibrante del campus, speriamo di progettare un edificio aperto che funga da filtro tra la funzione di insegnamento/ricerca e la funzione di apertura al pubblico, mantenendo vivo il campus durante il giorno. Allo stesso tempo, può fungere da grande punto di unione della comunità e del campus con un comodo accesso al traffico pubblico. Quindi, vorremmo creare uno studente centro di attività qui, consentendo lo svolgimento di diverse attività pubbliche.
