This thesis project was developed in collaboration with Danisi Engineering, a company based in Nichelino, specialised in the development of automobile suspensions. The thesis is focused on structural analysis and topological optimization, for the design of the front suspension of an ultra-high-performance road car, equipped with a pushrod double wishbone suspension scheme. In particular, the upper and lower arms, the pushrod and the rocker arm are covered. The design consists of two phases. Firstly, the mule vehicle suspension has been developed, which is used for the validation of vehicle dynamics. These components were CNC machined from solid. Then the suspension of the production vehicle has been designed, starting from what was observed in the prototype, but taking into account forging as the production method. The structural optimization and verification analysis tools made it possible to significantly reduce the mass of the suspension components, thus contributing to a vehicle with the best possible characteristics.
