This thesis explains in detail the methodology for the research and preliminary evaluation of utility scale photovoltaic projects in suitable areas in Italy. It begins with an introduction in which is presented the current overview related to the objectives that Italy has set to reach the European target for the development of renewable energy installations. Next, the current framework governing the submission and authorization of photovoltaic projects in Italy is described. After illustrating the photovoltaic technology adopted for utility scale applications, the process by which it is possible to identify and select suitable areas on which to carry out a preliminary analysis is described. Through this preliminary evaluation it is possible to assess the technical feasibility of the photovoltaic project. The methodology is then applied to the research of a suitable site in Piedmont and the subsequent preliminary sizing of the plant layout. This process allows the identification and selection of suitable areas in Piedmont. From the set of these suitable areas, so, it was possible to extract a specific area on which a preliminary plant layout was generated. A 1P configuration with 28-module trackers was adopted, for a total rated power of 9.7 MW. Finally, it was then possible to simulate its behavior during the year. This simulation allowed to estimate the equivalent hours of the plant and the relative annual energy produced. On these parameters it will be possible to build a business plan for economic feasibility evaluation.

Abstract
On these parameters it will be possible to build a business plan for economic feasibility evaluation.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
