Student Center : Via S.Sofia 9

The project explores a model of a closed, central courtyard student center with appropriate architectural functions for the specific site context and based on the user group. The student center, as a place frequently used during the student years, can be seen as a machine, with the users joining in to make the machine work, and the tables being the stage for the users, with different people giving different attributes to the space. People enter the student center with a transformation of mood and position, and the building should be used as a cue to match the user's mood change and lead them to where they need to go through certain guidance. This shift in mood is like putting on a mask of sorts. "The people came in and started shouting into the play, but behind that, he was also the scientist, the physicist."1 Some people put on the mask of silence and read quietly here, others put on the mask of passion and come here to communicate with others. The overall form of the building is unified, and in parts it is adapted to the needs of use, narrowing some senses while amplifying others, allowing the building to give people cues to adapt to it. In the end, people leave the building, forgetting about it and returning to their original lives.

Il progetto esplora un modello di centro studentesco chiuso, a cortile centrale, con funzioni architettoniche appropriate per il contesto specifico del sito e in base al gruppo di utenti. Lo student center, in quanto luogo frequentemente utilizzato durante gli anni di studio, può essere visto come una macchina, con gli utenti che si uniscono per far funzionare la macchina e i tavoli che sono il palcoscenico per gli utenti, con persone diverse che danno attributi diversi allo spazio. Le persone entrano nel centro studentesco cambiando umore e posizione, e l'edificio dovrebbe essere usato come spunto per adattarsi al cambiamento di umore dell'utente e condurlo dove deve andare attraverso una certa guida. Questo cambiamento di umore è come indossare una sorta di maschera. "La gente entrava e cominciava a gridare nella recita, ma dietro c'era anche lo scienziato, il fisico."1 Alcuni indossano la maschera del silenzio e leggono in silenzio, altri indossano la maschera della passione e vengono qui per comunicare con gli altri. La forma complessiva dell'edificio è unitaria, e in alcune parti si adatta alle esigenze d'uso, restringendo alcuni sensi e amplificandone altri, permettendo all'edificio di dare alle persone spunti per adattarsi ad esso. Alla fine, le persone lasciano l'edificio, dimenticandolo e tornando alle loro vite originarie.
