Abstract
Schools are where children spend the most time in their daily lives and a structure that affects them personally, socially, and physically. Therefore, consideration should always be given to how to provide a better environment for students in schools. We believe that we can guide the design approach based on previous experiences, present conditions, and assumptions about the future. In the past, a prototype of a new school, the open-air school, was developed against tuberculosis and other diseases during the interwar years and became quite popular for a while in European and American countries. The common feature of these schools is that they rely on a developed inside-outside relationship so that the classrooms can receive fresh air and sunlight. So, inspired by open air schools, how to develop 'Former Santa Corona hospital' as a concept of 'open-air school' to meet the needs of today and the future, and how the school that positively supports the development of children inside should be.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
