The aim of this thesis concerns the study and development of the control system of an innovative electric vehicle conceived for indoor personal mobility, driven by feet or through a remote controller. The vehicle has no handlebars and the driver could get on the vehicle and drive it through a smartphone or balancing his weight to turn left or right: over the chassis are mounted two metal insoles with pressure sensors. The project's goal is to set up the whole vehicle and to develop the control system paying attention to the details to get closer to the industrialization phase. The system identification and the project of speed controllers are described by developing a dynamic model of the vehicle and by testing sessions in which experimental data are collected. All the safety aspects related to the unusual driving posture are discussed, and security policies, which ensure a danger-free use, are described in detail. Every aspect of the human-machine interface is analyzed describing the interaction design and GUIs developed for the smartphone application and the LCD screen installed on the vehicle. The final system is a fully operative vehicle with a high level of refinement.

Abstract
The final system is a fully operative vehicle with a high level of refinement.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
