The goal of this work was to improve the Battery test setup for the estimation of the State of Health and End of Life of Lithium Ion batteries (LIB). To begin, a literature review was performed on models, aging mechanisms, and estimation techniques of LIB. A summary of the already existing Battery Test setup configuration was provided. The work progressed in three stages: the creation of a dataset from the previously obtained aging data, the post-processing of the data to compute the relevant quantities, and the analysis of the results to determine potential modifications to be applied. Indeed, the investigation found some issues with the battery test setup’s control and measurement systems. As a consequence, some changes were made in order to enhance the quality of the collected signals and thus the outcomes of the elaboration. Finally, a hardware and measurement board design modification has been suggested.
L’obbiettivo di questo lavoro è stato quello di migliorare il Battery test setup per la stima dello State of Health e della previsione di fine vita delle batterie. Il lavoro si è inizialmente svolto con una ricerca bibliografica su modelli di batterie, meccanismi di invecchiamento, metodi di stima e previsione di fine vita. Successivamente, si è passati a creare un dataset con i dati delle batterie per poi essere processati per ricavare le quantità di interesse. Tali risultati sono stati analizzati per evidenziare problemi riguardanti sia il sistema di controllo che quello di misura. In seguito all’analisi sono state infatti apportate modifiche ad entrambi. Inoltre è stata proposta una modifica hardware della scheda di misura.
