A study on the application of post-impressionist art style in the design of knitted women's wear

The goal of this research is to get a deeper comprehension of the evolution of knitwear fashion design as well as its defining qualities. This will be accomplished by investigating the process by which contemporary knits have been transformed as a result of a fresh interpretation of traditional ideals ingrained in artistic movements such as post-impressionism. According to Dissanayake (Dissanayake 2000, p.86), textile practices, such as knitting, play an important part in the long and rich history of activities that aim to create meaning. These activities may be traced back to the endeavors of our earliest ancestors to discover "systems and stories" in their own environments. Since the late sixteenth century, the name "knitting" has been connected with the textile craft that we recognize today. The connotations that are associated with knitting have, of course, changed throughout the course of time. Knitting is acquiring new connotations and undergoing fundamental metamorphoses as a result of the interpretation and application of the craft by designers. Over time, the various semiotic systems that people draw upon to form meanings on their well-being and the construction of their identities, as well as how meaning-making arises from a complex interaction of modes and materials, as well as emotive and aesthetic interactions, have been studied. The purpose of this essay is to investigate, from a more in-depth perspective, the connection that exists between knitting and the construction of meaning in the current lives of individuals on a daily basis through the expressions and influences of post-impressionist paintings.

L'obiettivo di questa ricerca è quello di comprendere più a fondo l'evoluzione del design della moda della maglieria, nonché le sue qualità distintive. A tal fine, si indagherà sul processo di trasformazione della maglieria contemporanea come risultato di una nuova interpretazione degli ideali tradizionali radicati in movimenti artistici come il post-impressionismo. Secondo Dissanayake (Dissanayake 2000, p.86), le pratiche tessili, come il lavoro a maglia, svolgono un ruolo importante nella lunga e ricca storia delle attività che mirano a creare significato. Queste attività possono essere fatte risalire agli sforzi dei nostri primi antenati di scoprire "sistemi e storie" nei loro ambienti. Dalla fine del XVI secolo, il nome "lavoro a maglia" è stato collegato all'artigianato tessile che conosciamo oggi. Le connotazioni associate al lavoro a maglia sono ovviamente cambiate nel corso del tempo. Il lavoro a maglia sta acquisendo nuove connotazioni e subendo metamorfosi fondamentali come risultato dell'interpretazione e dell'applicazione del mestiere da parte dei designer. Nel corso del tempo, sono stati studiati i vari sistemi semiotici a cui le persone attingono per formare significati sul loro benessere e sulla costruzione della loro identità, nonché il modo in cui la creazione di significati nasce da una complessa interazione di modalità e materiali, oltre che da interazioni emotive ed estetiche. Lo scopo di questo saggio è quello di indagare, da una prospettiva più approfondita, la connessione che esiste tra il lavoro a maglia e la costruzione di significato nella vita attuale degli individui su base quotidiana attraverso le espressioni e le influenze dei dipinti post-impressionisti.
