Recinti abitati: Una nuova identità per l' Ex Caserma Passalacqua

The “Recinti abitati” project aims to redevelop the former Passalacqua Barracks, a well-known complex in Novara that has remained abandoned since the second half of the 20th century. Built in 1889, the Caserma Passalacqua today is in a clear state of decay with phenomena of drug dealing, violence and illegal occupation. The goals of the project, which will be clearly explained during the course of the thesis, can be summarized as follows: - Conservative redevelopment of pre-existing buildings; - Redevelopment of pre-existing buildings through the installation of municipal buildings and student residences; - Construction of new buildings used for activities both linked to the established functions and aimed at the community; - Creation of a new system of green spaces and new public spaces; - Maintaining a strong link with the context through the study of the city and its architectural features.

Il progetto “Recinti abitati” si pone come obiettivo quello della riqualificazione della Ex-Caserma Passalacqua, noto complesso novarese rimasto abbandonato dalla seconda metà del XX secolo. Costruita nel 1889, la Caserma Passalacqua ad oggi si presenta in evidente stato di degrado con fenomeni di spaccio, violenza e occupazione illegale. Gli obiettivi dell’intervento, che verranno ben esplicitati durante lo svolgimento della Tesi di Laurea, possono essere così riassunti: - Riqualificazione di tipo conservativo sugli edifici preesistenti; - Rifunzionalizzazione delle preesistenze tramite l’insediamento di edifici comunali e residenze studentesche; - Realizzazione di nuovi edifici adibiti ad attività sia legate alle funzioni insediatasi, sia rivolte alla collettività; - Creazione di un nuovo sistema di spazi verdi e di nuovi spazi pubblici; - Mantenimento di un forte legame con il contesto tramite lo studio della città e delle sue rilevanze architettoniche.
