This thesis consists of pricing barrier options using the Monte Carlo method, in a model for the underlying asset that includes features such as the stochastic volatility and self-exciting jumps typical of the Hawkes processes. The first chapter introduces the reader to the world of quantitative finance, providing an overview of the main models, presenting barrier options and the Monte Carlo method. The second chapter includes an examination of the Black & Scholes model, Lévy processes, stochastic volatility and Hawkes processes. The third chapter is devoted to simulation. The fourth chapter focuses on pricing barrier options using (semi) analytical techniques, while the fifth chapter outlines the Monte Carlo method as a numerical approach to our model, using variance reduction techniques. In the sixth chapter, numerical results obtained from the simulation are presented, analyzing how barrier option prices vary as model parameters change. Finally, in the seventh chapter, the thesis concludes with a summary of the main results obtained.

Abstract
Finally, in the seventh chapter, the thesis concludes with a summary of the main results obtained.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
