This thesis explores the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in project governance with the aim of outlining a conceptual framework that illustrates the potential applications of AI at various levels of governance. Such an approach aims to enhance effectiveness, efficiency and goal achievement in projects. The first part of the work begins by introducing the concept of governance and its relationship to project management. The different types of governance are then discussed, as well as the petal diagram model. The thesis then provides an overview of AI, including machine learning, computer vision, automated planning and scheduling, robotics, and AI in project management. The impact of AI is deeply considered, but also the role of leadership in project governance, project management bots, and ethics in AI’s field. It is then offered a conceptual framework for project governance by AI. The framework includes three tools at the heart of governance: strategy, structure, and process. The framework also incorporates five key AI actions into project governance: detection, prediction, simulation, automation and reporting. The framework is then validated through interviews in several companies: Tenova, Ferrero and other consulting companies of global significance. The results of the study show that the framework can be effective in improving project governance at different levels, supporting decision-making, resource allocation and optimising processes. The thesis concludes with a discussion on future development and research directions, such as the development of models for autonomous decision-making or live reporting systems.

Abstract
The thesis concludes with a discussion on future development and research directions, such as the development of models for autonomous decision-making or live reporting systems.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
