As part of the search for a new centrality for Pasaia, the thesis aims to reflect on the current situation of the city, characterised by a port in crisis, by providing renewal idea based on the figure of the market. A market understood as a square of interaction, a covered commercial space and an element of urban regeneration. A new place for the community based not only on shopping, but also on cultural sharing. This means working on an urban scale, creating new connections in favour of slow mobility, able to connect the new community space with the rest of the city, through a green system. Going more depth, several critical issues are resolved, such as the lack of services and the absence of aggregation places, to meet the needs of citizens. These considerations gave rise to Auzoka, a fusion of the Basque words auzo (neighbourhood) and azoka (market). A building capable of conveying the needs of the neighbourhood while exalting the qualities of Basque culture.

Abstract
A building capable of conveying the needs of the neighbourhood while exalting the qualities of Basque culture.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
