Paesaggio abitato

The exhibition "Inhabited Landscape" showcases a series of installations, objects, furnishings, videos, prints, and photographs that recreate a landscape for visitors to explore. The aim is to better understand and make the research on the evolution of the relationship between humans and nature more tangible and experiential. Despite the contemporary world being strongly tilted towards an anthropocentric perspective, the exhibition promotes an approach that challenges this trend by highlighting the beneficial effects on humans of a synergistic collaboration with nature rather than its destruction. Humans have always had the tendency to imitate nature and take inspiration from it, but are they fully aware of its strength and superior power? The created landscape in the exhibition explores this complex relationship, emphasizing human will to create using what nature has provided. It showcases what has emerged through the collaboration between these two forces, as seen in the interaction between piles of natural materials and related artworks. The journey then continues with the discovery of an installation reminiscent of the proportions of Pompeian houses, a domestic space reconnecting to ancient traditions and more sustainable living practices. This is reflected, for example, in the longhouses of New Guinea, the nomadic architectures of African tribes, and has evolved into the concept of Mediterranean homes and Rudofsky and Nivola's open rooms. The created landscape is observed, discovered, and inhabited, providing different vantage points and creating awareness of the environment and the exhibition space.

La mostra “Paesaggio abitato” presenta una serie di installazioni, oggetti, arredi, video, stampe e fotografie che ricreano un paesaggio che può essere esplorato dal visitatore al fine di comprendere al meglio e rendere più tangibile ed esperienziale il lavoro di ricerca sull’evoluzione del rapporto tra uomo e natura. Nonostante il nostro mondo contemporaneo sia fortemente sbilanciato verso una prospettiva antropocentrica, la mostra promuove un approccio che sfida questa tendenza esaltando gli effetti benefici sull’uomo della collaborazione sinergica con la natura piuttosto della sua distruzione. L’uomo ha da sempre avuto la tendenza ad imitare la natura e prendere esempio da essa, ma è abbastanza consapevole della sua forza e potenza superiore? Il paesaggio che si viene a creare nel percorso espositivo esplora questa complessa relazione mettendo in evidenza la volontà umana di creare partendo da ciò che la natura gli ha dato a disposizione, e ciò che si è venuto a creare attraverso la collaborazione tra queste due forze come si vede nell’interazione tra cumuli di materiali naturali e opere connesse. La passeggiata continua poi nella scoperta di un’installazione che richiama le proporzioni delle case pompeiane, uno spazio domestico che si riconnette alle più antiche tradizioni e alle pratiche di vita più sostenibili che si riflettono per esempio nelle long houses della Nuova Guinea, nelle architetture nomadi delle tribù africane e che si sono evolute nell’idea di casa mediterranea e nelle open rooms di Rudofsky e Nivola. Il paesaggio creatosi viene così osservato, scoperto e abitato donando punti di osservazione diversi e creando consapevolezza dell’ambiente e dello spazio spazio espositivo.
