The Thesis addresses the challenges associated with autonomous inspection and object interaction using mobile manipulators. With a primary focus on gauge inspection and emergency button interaction in industrial environments, the Thesis aims to provide a broader exploration of the methodologies applicable to different contexts and scenarios. To perform autonomous inspection and interaction tasks, the system must detect the object, estimate its position and orientation in the environment, and plan a feasible trajectory to reach the target, addressing obstacle detection and collision avoidance challenges. Our proposed method uses YOLO and depth information to detect and estimate a target object’s pose. To overcome the physical limitations of the manipulator, The Thesis proposes a method to compute feasible mobile base poses from which the manipulator can perform tasks. The Thesis presents the development of a scalable software architecture using Behavior Trees which provides a flexible solution where the independence and reusability of Behavior Tree nodes enhance the application’s adaptability to multiple tasks in different domains. Finally, the Thesis provides an overview of how the manipulator has been integrated with the mobile base regarding hardware and software.

Abstract
Finally, the Thesis provides an overview of how the manipulator has been integrated with the mobile base regarding hardware and software.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
