The main objectives of this thesis are to analyse the current state of the Smart Home market in both Italian and global contexts and to investigate the relationship between the Value Proposition of Smart Home devices – the overall value offered to customers – and their Level of Compatibility with various Smart Home ecosystems. The research begins with an in-depth review of the Smart Homes technology’s evolution, focusing on advancements in areas like comfort, security, healthcare, and entertainment. The study then explores the barriers to the adoption of these technologies, including technological complexity, interoperability, privacy concerns, and public perception, with a particular focus on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the acceleration of both Smart Home technologies adoption and innovation. At its core, the thesis presents a detailed analysis of the Smart Home market, utilising a comprehensive database to assess a broad spectrum of products and services. It then defines and highlights the correlation between two Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) – Value Proposition and Level of Compatibility – and their impact on consumer preferences and market trends. This research finally provides a detailed understanding of how Smart Home solutions are perceived and valued in the market, shedding light on the factors driving consumer choices and technological adoption.

Abstract
This research finally provides a detailed understanding of how Smart Home solutions are perceived and valued in the market, shedding light on the factors driving consumer choices and technological adoption.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
