We live in a delicate historical moment, in which social and environmental issues are at the center of great debates, especially regarding climate change and soil, water and air pollution. As architects and planners our role is to design spaces that are part of the solution to these problems, both for human and environment health. The intention is to address the problem of river pollution through a project of regeneration of the territories it crosses, restoring the river ecosystem, improving water quality, and promoting greater awareness of the local community on the importance of river and water conservation. An integrated approach will be applied, where landscape design interventions, water resources management and local community involvement will be part of the process. The aim is to develop a regeneration strategy in order to restore the ecological health of the river and rehabilitate its natural functions, as well as to rebuild the link between river and city. The creation of river parks, public spaces along the banks of the river and a more sustainable agriculture, combined with the active involvement of the local community and collaboration between the stakeholders, are necessary to ensure a positive impact on the health of the river its population.

Abstract
The creation of river parks, public spaces along the banks of the river and a more sustainable agriculture, combined with the active involvement of the local community and collaboration between the stakeholders, are necessary to ensure a positive impact on the health of the river its population.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
