This thesis endeavors to explore the impact of equity crowdfunding on the organizational structure of startups. Concentrating on a dataset comprising Italian startups that successfully conducted at least one equity crowdfunding campaign from 2014 to 2020, this study delves into the relationship between the attributes of the network of investors attracted and the resultant organizational design of the startup. The findings of this investigation substantiate the initial hypothesis, revealing that engagement in an equity crowdfunding campaign can indeed influence aspects such as organizational size, and changes in the startup's management team. These outcomes align with the perspective that, leveraging information, knowledge, and resources acquired during and after the campaign, startups have the capacity to reconfigure their structure to align with shareholders' expectations of sustainable growth.

Abstract
This thesis endeavors to explore the impact of equity crowdfunding on the organizational structure of startups. Concentrating on a dataset comprising Italian startups that successfully conducted at least one equity crowdfunding campaign from 2014 to 2020, this study delves into the relationship between the attributes of the network of investors attracted and the resultant organizational design of the startup. The findings of this investigation substantiate the initial hypothesis, revealing that engagement in an equity crowdfunding campaign can indeed influence aspects such as organizational size, and changes in the startup's management team. These outcomes align with the perspective that, leveraging information, knowledge, and resources acquired during and after the campaign, startups have the capacity to reconfigure their structure to align with shareholders' expectations of sustainable growth.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
