Research on Lean and its association with performances are fully spread around the literature. Lean is recognized as one of the best approaches to enhance performance improvements. However, the current studies highlighted how the its connection with performances is not always positive, occasionally yielding results that contradict earlier findings. This thesis undertakes a comprehensive exploration of the intricate dynamics between Lean methodologies and organizational performance, taking into consideration the effects of the external variables. The research, is based on a structured literature review, investigating the mediating and moderating factors that influence the Lean – Performances relationship, aiming to fill existing gaps in the current literature. The thesis encompasses an in-depth analysis of Lean paradigms, Lean Manufacturing, Lean principles, Lean Practices and organizational performances, including also Sustainable Performances, less analyzed by the current literature. External factors influencing the Lean-performance connection are scrutinized, concentrating the analysis on mediating and moderating effects. Methodologically, a systematic literature review is employed, guiding the location, selection, and analysis of relevant studies. The results shed light on quantitative analysis, performances output and “Lean input”, term that express a lean paradigm concept that is investigated in relationship with performances output. The discussion delves into mediating and moderating factors, revealing current analysis and develop considerations for future research. The conclusions provide answers to the research question, propose a survey example for future exploration linking to the innovation bundle effects, highlight contributions to the literature, and acknowledge the research's limitations. This thesis contributes to the understanding of the varied and versatile relationships within Lean manufacturing and organizational performance, leading the way for further exploration and practical applications.

Abstract
This thesis contributes to the understanding of the varied and versatile relationships within Lean manufacturing and organizational performance, leading the way for further exploration and practical applications.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
