The work performed by the author of this thesis has been performed during an internship in Azcom Technology, an italian company located in Assago(MI) that operates in the telecommunications and electronics sector. During the tenure, the author has worked on a real-world project consisting in the design of an RF Upconversion chain, a specific kind of circuit meant to increase the power level and working frequency of an incoming signal, thus making it suitable for antenna transmission. These kinds of circuit can be especially complicated to design due to their non-ideal behaviour at higher frequencies, and during the current era high-frequency wireless transmissions have become more and more requested. The main tasks of the author were to help in the design of the system by performing software simulations and extracting the necessary data. Afterwards, such data has been compared with the one computed through test with real instruments in a laboratory environment, in order to make sure that the designed system is properly working and if, on a large scale, the system is able to fit in the previously set requirements. This thesis provides an overview of what has been performed by the author in this working environment, will present some of the challenges and issues that have been solved and will provide a description of every used component and the rationale behind its usage and placement.

Abstract
This thesis provides an overview of what has been performed by the author in this working environment, will present some of the challenges and issues that have been solved and will provide a description of every used component and the rationale behind its usage and placement.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
