COUCOU - say hi to nature. A shared habitat to protect biodiversity

The city hosts an incessant coming and going of people and cultures, can they all feel included? The following paper aims to analyse the mechanisms of human interconnectedness through ethnographic studies. To create an inclusive and welcoming product, it is necessary to analyse the city, the historical events that led to its formation and development, its users and how they perceive the urbe. Through the guidance of leading sociologists, philosophers and literary scholars, the question of urban identity, a fundamental accessory for a respectful and collaborative user, was investigated. There was a desire to give space to all urban users, with particular attention to those categories often forgotten because they are outside working life. There was also a desire to include in the definition of ‘city dweller’ all those non-human species that populate the urban terrain and skies. An in-depth look at the issue of urban biodiversity, which must be protected and safeguarded. There is also a debate on climate change and how future generations will cope with the problems. In addition to these, it is also about all the younger citizens, those who will concretely live the future that we are trying to improve today, those in whom the feeling of urban identity can and must arise to generate responsibility and attachment to place. The paper takes a wide-ranging, yet simple look at the world to come, at the pivotal themes of inclusiveness and cultural enrichment provided by the multitude of peoples living in the city, and at the importance of the freedom that only the urban dweller possesses.

La città ospita un incessante andirivieni di persone e culture: possono tutti sentirsi inclusi? Il presente lavoro si propone di analizzare i meccanismi di interconnessione umana attraverso studi etnografici. Per creare un prodotto inclusivo e accogliente, è necessario analizzare la città, gli eventi storici che hanno portato alla sua formazione e al suo sviluppo, i suoi utenti e la loro percezione dell'urbe. Attraverso la guida di importanti sociologi, filosofi e letterati, è stata indagata la questione dell'identità urbana, accessorio fondamentale per un'utenza rispettosa e collaborativa. Si è voluto dare spazio a tutti gli utenti urbani, con particolare attenzione a quelle categorie spesso dimenticate perché estranee alla vita lavorativa. Si è voluto includere nella definizione di "abitante della città" anche tutte quelle specie non umane che popolano il territorio e i cieli urbani. Un approfondimento sul tema della biodiversità urbana, che va protetta e salvaguardata. Si discute anche di cambiamenti climatici e di come le generazioni future affronteranno i problemi. Oltre a questi, si parla anche di tutti i cittadini più giovani, quelli che vivranno concretamente il futuro che oggi stiamo cercando di migliorare, quelli in cui può e deve nascere il sentimento di identità urbana per generare responsabilità e attaccamento al luogo. Il documento getta uno sguardo ampio e al tempo stesso semplice sul mondo che verrà, sui temi cardine dell'inclusività e dell'arricchimento culturale offerti dalla moltitudine di città.
