Bencharking process on the Master of Management and Industrial Engineering among the top world-wide rankings

Following a benchmarking process, and after explaining this procedure, information is gathered from the top rankings of master of sciences, specifically in the fields of management and business, in order to perform a further analysis having the best universities worldwide, and given the country of our main university, Politecnico di Milano, Italian universities are included to perform an extended examination of the different requirements that students must have to be able to enter to the master. These requirements are gathered, cleaned, evaluated, and compared in different stages, in order to have a wider vision among the position of the universities in three different instances: analyzing the full data, the Italian data and the Alliance4tech data. The process will have as main trouble and findings the lack of information, as some universities, even though they are the most famous and prestigious, some information is not available, and this can cost some quality to the analysis. Different requirements are compared and assessed during the thesis, from the general ones to some more specific as national ones, specific exams, and others discussed in the work to have a wider perspective and a better understanding of each university threshold to accept candidates, the comparison and positioning of the top Master of Management programs among the best universities in the world, according to diverse rankings employed.

Tramite un’analisi di benchmarking, e dopo aver dettagliato questa procedura, si raccolgono informazioni dai ranking di percorsi di master of sciences, in particolare nei campi del management e del business, ai fini dell’analisi delle università a livello globale. Queste vengono confrontate con il Politecnico di Milano, e con diverse università italiane per effettuare una valutazione dei diversi requisiti che gli studenti devono avere per poter accedere al percorso. Questi requisiti vengono raccolti, valutati e confrontati in diverse fasi, al fine di avere una visione più ampia della posizione delle università in tre diverse categorie: globale, italiana e Alliance4tech. Il processo ha come principale criticità la mancanza di informazioni, in quanto alcune università, pur essendo prestigiose, non rendono disponibili informazioni importanti e questo può pregiudicare la qualità dell'analisi. Nel corso del lavoro sono stati confrontati e valutati diversi requisiti, da quelli generali ad altri più specifici come quelli nazionali, esami specifici e altri discussi nel lavoro, per avere una prospettiva più ampia e una migliore comprensione di ogni requisito universitario per l’accettazione dei candidati, il confronto e il posizionamento dei migliori programmi di master of management tra le migliori università del mondo, secondo diverse classifiche utilizzate.
