This thesis deals with an existing building complex and a common problem associated with it, how to continue. It is the former campus of the vetenaria faculty of the university statale in Milano. The campus is located in the Citta studi district and was built in the early 20th-century and has been used since as a university complex ever since. Currently, the campus is neglected, individual buildings are empty, and in general the life on campus does not correspond to the extremely good location in the Citta Studi district, with good connections to the academic environment and the high demand for space for students in the area. In the interest of improving the situation, the current status was first analysed. A concept of restoration was developed to preserve the valuable existing buildings. Subsequently, the entire campus was analysed as part of its urban environment and as a University campus with its own internal organization. Accordingly, the decision was made to bring new life into the campus with a new entrance building. The new entrance building will be placed next to the former entrance building, which is intended to function as a library in the future. The new consists of a tower with a bridge that covers the entrance area and connects to the existing building. A connection between old and new. The covered place under the bridge comprises the new main entrance of the campus. A covered place from where you can not only enter the New Building but also the Existing Building and simultaneously, it forms a passage leading to the interior of the campus.
