In the heart of the Forum Adiectum, the fashion event orchestrated by the Maison Rabanne is staged. However, this occasion is not merely an exhibition of trends and styles, but becomes an opportunity to revitalise a site steeped in millenary history: a place that has undergone a continuous series of changes and overlaps over the centuries. These include the remains of the imperial storehouses known as the Horrea Vespasiani, the Campo Vaccino, and its later reconfiguration as the entrance to the Palatine Hill and the Horti Farnesiarum. The project, conceived with the intention of enhancing this site of archaeological importance without compromising its authenticity and historical understanding, sees the central participation of the fashion maison, which in its collections has repeatedly paid homage to and reinterpreted the aesthetics of the ancient world with an avant-garde and futuristic touch. However, the synergy between fashion and cultural heritage is not new. In recent years, Haute Couture has shown a growing interest in supporting initiatives aimed at the preservation and promotion of cultural heritage. This mutually beneficial partnership has seen significant funding for the restoration of archaeological and historical sites in return for public appreciation and visibility. The thesis, therefore, investigates this unique opportunity: enhancing an archaeological site through a fashion event. In this perspective, the event is not only an ephemeral occasion, but provides the pretext for the creation of temporary and reversible structures. The latter, designed to last beyond the very duration of the event, aim to enhance the intrinsic significance of the site without compromising its historical integrity. On the contrary, they aim to facilitate the understanding and experience of the site, offering an innovative perspective that merges past and present into a single evocative and informative experience.

Nel cuore del Forum Adiectum, è allestito l'evento di moda orchestrato dalla maison Rabanne. Tuttavia, quest'occasione non si limita a essere una mera esposizione di tendenze e stili, ma si trasforma in un'opportunità per rivitalizzare un sito intriso di storia millenaria: un luogo che nel corso dei secoli ha subito una serie continua di mutamenti e sovrapposizioni, determinando, ad oggi, una difficile leggibilità. Tra queste, spiccano le vestigia dei magazzini imperiali noti come Horrea Vespasiani, il Campo Vaccino, e la riconfigurazione successiva come ingresso al Colle Palatino e agli Horti Farnesiarum. Il progetto, concepito con l'intento di esaltare tale sito di importanza archeologica senza comprometterne l'autenticità e la comprensione storica, vede la partecipazione centrale della maison di moda, che nelle sue collezioni ha più volte omaggiato e reinterpretato l'estetica del mondo antico con un tocco avant-garde e futuristico. Tuttavia, la sinergia tra moda e patrimonio culturale non è nuova. Negli ultimi anni, l'Alta Moda ha dimostrato un crescente interesse nel sostenere iniziative volute alla conservazione e promozione del patrimonio culturale. Questo partenariato, caratterizzato da un reciproco vantaggio, ha visto importanti finanziamenti destinati al restauro di siti archeologici e storici in cambio di un apprezzamento e una visibilità pubblica. La tesi, dunque, investiga proprio questa opportunità unica: valorizzare un sito archeologico attraverso un evento di moda. In questa prospettiva, l'evento non è solo un’occasione effimera, ma fornisce il pretesto per la creazione di strutture temporanee e reversibili. Queste ultime, concepite per perdurare oltre la durata stessa dell'evento, mirano a esaltare il significato intrinseco del sito senza comprometterne l'integrità storica. Al contrario, si propongono di facilitare la comprensione e l'esperienza del sito, offrendo una prospettiva innovativa che fonde passato e presente in un'unica esperienza suggestiva e informativa.
