This thesis aim to contribute to the research on Digital Participatory Platforms (DPPs) by examining their utilization in civic engagement within the context of transport and mobility, specifically in situations involving temporary Street Experiments (SE). This focus stems from the current technological era in which we are increasingly integrated into. Exploring Digital Participatory Platforms is crucial to shed light on these relatively novel methods of involvement, which play a vital role in the collective development and construction of cities. With this purpose, three cases were selected and analysed in the cities of Vienna, London and Bologna, where Commonplace and CityMaking!Wien platforms were used. Comparison between the cases have shown different insights such as how DPPs can be employed adopting different approaches; how the local existing participatory environment do matters for effective outcomes; how do exist the possibility of a “culture of engagement” and how digital tool can effectively contribute to highlight new issues and investigate emerging needs. Nonetheless, some limits still exist and general guidelines are necessary to avoid isolated applications, promoting familiarity and greater participatory response.
