This thesis investigates the impact of venture builders on corporate innovation within Italian companies, delving into the evolving landscape of corporate entrepreneurship. Through a qualitative study encompassing multiple case analyses, it presents an in- depth exploration of how venture builders, distinct from traditional incubators and accelerators, offer a structured framework for nurturing innovation and fostering the development of new ventures within established corporations. The study provides insight into the strategic motivations behind corporations' decisions to create venture builders, emphasizing their key role in providing a fast, flexible, and efficient approach to innovation beyond the constraints of the core business. Using case studies from a variety of industries, including energy, telecommunications, and fintech, the study reveals the operational dynamics, challenges, and outcomes associated with the adoption of venture builders. It shows how these organizations accelerate the innovation process by leveraging corporate assets and capabilities to develop new markets and technologies, thereby making significant contributions to corporate growth and strategic renewal. Through the lens of five Italian corporations, the thesis uncovers the multifaceted benefits of venture builders, such as enhanced innovation agility, access to entrepreneurial talent, and the strategic expansion into adjacent and new markets. It also addresses the challenges encountered, including cultural integration, governance, and scaling of new ventures. The cross-case analysis synthesizes key insights, offering a comprehensive understanding of the venture builder's role in catalyzing corporate innovation, underpinned by a conceptual framework that integrates theoretical perspectives with empirical findings. Questa tesi indaga l'impatto dei venture builder sull'innovazione aziendale all'interno delle imprese italiane, addentrandosi nel panorama in evoluzione dell'imprenditorialità aziendale. Attraverso uno studio qualitativo che comprende molteplici analisi di casi, presenta un'esplorazione approfondita di come i venture builder, distinti dai tradizionali incubatori e acceleratori, offrano un quadro strutturato per alimentare l'innovazione e favorire lo sviluppo di nuove imprese all'interno di aziende consolidate. Lo studio fornisce una visione delle motivazioni strategiche alla base delle decisioni delle aziende di creare venture builder, sottolineando il loro ruolo chiave nel fornire un approccio rapido, flessibile ed efficiente all'innovazione al di là dei vincoli del core business. Utilizzando casi di studio provenienti da diversi settori, tra cui energia, telecomunicazioni e fintech, lo studio rivela le dinamiche operative, le sfide e i risultati associati all'adozione dei venture builder.
