The idea for this thesis originates from my experience as a designer in a team focused on the development of a digital product, where I actively participated in the creation and management of a design system, a fundamental tool in use today in this domain. A design system is a structured collection of rules, components and strategies that guide the design of products and services. Technological developments in recent years have considerably enriched the tools available to designers, enabling rapid developments and iterations and improving consistency and scalability within projects in a way that was unthinkable a few years ago. However, this progress brings with it a renewed emphasis on the development technique of design systems themselves, with an almost obsessive focus on components and their realisation. In this context, the evolution of artificial intelligence suggests that working tools may soon operate autonomously, without the need for direct intervention by designers. This raises significant questions about the future role of the designer in the context of design systems. This thesis aims to explore an innovative interpretation of the design system, currently too limited to visible aspects in products, such as components. To try and imagine a future in which these ecosystems are based on an evolved model, in which the components and the focus on them are only the basis of a broader structure.

Abstract
To try and imagine a future in which these ecosystems are based on an evolved model, in which the components and the focus on them are only the basis of a broader structure.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
