Rizòmata : le radici del Cosmo : un progetto d'arte ambientale a Villa Panza attraverso un'indagine sull'arte contemporanea ambientale

Rizòmata, le radici del Cosmo is a meta-design thesis that reflects on the role of the four elements in contemporary and environmental art, continuing with a development of exhibition design in the green area of Villa e Collezione Panza, a place where nature becomes an integral part of the built in a continuous dialogue between interior and exterior. The thesis starts from a philosophical introduction that aims to understand how, since ancient times, the roots of the cosmos have been identified in the first elements of nature, the four elements, eternal and immutable. Based on this preparatory research and referring to what is a contemporary theme of return to nature, the intent of this thesis is to study how these materials, fire, water, air and earth are used in contemporary art and in particular in environmental art becoming carriers of new and ancient meanings. From the research comes then a project that wants to be a completion of this investigation around the four elements and how these are chosen by artists, architects, designers and curators to talk about a sense of return to the complex simplicity of nature. Sharing the ideas of collectors Panza and the FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, the exhibition project wants to present a series of contemporary environmental artworks focused on the themes of the four elements and through the presence of a series of Italian and international artists, known and less known, to carry on the legacy and collector’s research of Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, creating an exhibition project that can bring the viewer closer to an experience of deep harmony with nature. The thesis therefore consists of an in-depth analysis and research in the field of artistic and exhibition expressions connected with natural elements and the consequent well-considered selection of a repertoire of works suitable for the exhibition that is designed for Villa and Panza Collection.

Rizòmata, le radici del Cosmo è una tesi di carattere meta-progettuale che riflette sul ruolo dei quattro elementi nell’arte contemporanea e ambientale, proseguendo con uno sviluppo di progettazione espositiva nell’area verde di Villa e Collezione Panza, un luogo in cui la natura diviene parte integrante del costruito in un continuo dialogo tra interno ed esterno. La tesi parte da un’introduzione di carattere filosofico che ha lo scopo di comprendere come, fin dall’antichità, le radici del cosmo siano state individuate negli elementi primi della natura, i quattro elementi, eterni ed immutabili, che restano ancora oggi le fondamenta della realtà. Basandosi su questa ricerca propedeutica e facendo riferimento a quella che è una tematica contemporanea di ritorno alla natura, l’intento di questa tesi è quello di studiare come queste materie, fuoco, acqua, aria e terra vengano impiegate nell’arte contemporanea ed in particolare nell’arte ambientale diventando portatrici di nuovi e antichi significati. Dalla ricerca nasce poi un progetto che vuole essere un completamento di questa indagine attorno ai quattro elementi e a come questi vengano scelti da artisti, architetti, designer e curatori per parlare di un senso di ritorno alla semplicità complessa della natura. Condividendo le idee dei collezionisti Panza e del FAI, Fondo Ambiente Italiano, il progetto espositivo vuole presentare una serie di opere d’arte contemporanea ambientale incentrate sulle tematiche dei quattro elementi e attraverso la presenza di una serie di artisti italiani ed internazionali, noti e meno noti, di portare avanti la l’eredità e ricerca collezionistica di Giuseppe Panza di Biumo, creando un progetto espositivo che possa avvicinare lo spettatore ad un’esperienza di armonia profonda con la natura. La tesi si compone dunque di una analisi e ricerca approfondita nell’ambito delle espressioni artistiche ed espositive connesse con gli elementi naturali e della conseguente selezione ben ponderata di un repertorio di opere idoneo all’esposizione che viene progettata per Villa e Collezione Panza.
